About Kathy Eaton

As both a writer and a small business owner Kathy Eaton brings a unique perspective to her commitment to help others Get The Word Out.

Her passion for putting words into print began as editor of her high school newspaper. Following graduation from Suffolk University ('74), Boston, MA with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications and Journalism, Kathy (Fairman) Eaton began her writing career as a reporter for the Granite State News, the weekly newspaper serving Wolfeboro, NH.

She advanced to Assistant Editor before moving on to serve as News and Public Affairs Director at WASR Radio from 1980-84 where she received several broadcast awards from the Associated Press Broadcasters Association and the NH Broadcasters Association.

In 1984 she co-founded the Panoramic Publishing Group creating The Laker, a Lakes Region newspaper oriented to the vacationer. As editor and co-owner, she worked with upwards of 200 customers each year assisting with news and advertising promotions for their businesses.

Following the sale of the publishing company in 2001 she continues to manage the Wolfeboro Trolley Company.

In 2009-2010 she served as chairman of the Wolfeboro 250th Anniversary Committee, which organized and promoted a yearlong series of events to commemorate the town's 250th birthday.

She has also published numerous articles as a freelance writer. Her first book, Remember When: A Collection of Old Photographs of Wolfeboro, NH published in 1976, and her most recent, an historical novel set in New Hampshire during the Civil War, will be ready for publication soon.

A life-long resident of New Hampshire, Eaton's family ties to the Granite State date to 1893 when her great grandparents purchased island property on Lake Winnipesaukee.

Today she and her husband Richard live six months of the year at their island home on Lake Wentworth, Wolfeboro wintering through the other six months in their "mainland" home near downtown Wolfeboro.
